Honoring Service. Enriching Lives.
Wearable technology supporting rural veterans and older adults with greater confidence, connection, and independence.
Senior Valor uses Meta AI glasses to provide practical, hands-free support with communication, navigation, reading, everyday tasks, environmental awareness, and meaningful engagement. The program is designed to support approximately 30 rural senior veterans through guided, hands-on learning.
What Is Senior Valor?
Senior Valor is a TraVolve Wellness initiative designed to help rural veterans and older adults use wearable technology in ways that support everyday life.
Through small-group learning, guided practice, and personalized support, participants will explore tools that may help them:
Read signs, labels, menus, and printed materials
Navigate unfamiliar surroundings
Communicate more easily
Receive assistance with everyday routines
Capture meaningful memories and experiences
Stay connected with family and community
Build confidence using emerging technology
Program is trauma-informed, dignity-centered, and designed around safety, practical use, and personal choice.
Technology With a Human Heart
Senior Valor is not simply about placing new technology into someone’s hands.
It is about looking at the person, listening to what matters, and identifying where technology might fill a real need.
Each participant will have opportunities to practice, ask questions, identify helpful features, and decide what works best for their daily life.
Who Senior Valor Serves
Senior Valor is being developed primarily for:
Rural veterans
Older adult veterans
Older adults who may benefit from hands-free assistance
Caregivers and family members
Community partners serving rural and veteran populations
Participants may express interest in support with reminders, reflection, memory, legacy activities, reading, navigation, communication, and other everyday needs.
What Participants Can Expect
Participants will receive guided support rather than being expected to learn the technology alone.
The program may include:
An introductory orientation
Small-group learning sessions
Hands-on practice with AI glasses
Safety and privacy education
Individualized use planning
Follow-up support
Opportunities to share feedback and stories
Clear safety, privacy, consent, and equipment-use practices are built into every stage of the program.
Our Community Vision
Senior Valor seeks to reduce the distance between innovation and the people who may benefit from it most.
Rural veterans and older adults should not be left behind as technology changes. They should have opportunities to explore new tools in environments that are patient, respectful, accessible, and grounded in real life.
